Our service process follows the same structure for every watch, regardless of value or type. This is not routine for its own sake — it ensures nothing is missed and that every owner has the same experience of clarity and control.
The written assessment step is, in our view, the most important part. It creates a shared understanding before work begins and eliminates the most common source of dissatisfaction in watch servicing: surprise costs or unexpected alterations.
Tools & Methods
The Right Equipment for Careful Work
A timing machine measures each serviced movement across multiple positions before the watch is closed. Ultrasonic cleaning equipment removes accumulated residue from components without abrasion. Lubricants are selected by component type and movement age rather than applied uniformly.
For case and crystal work, we use a range of crystal types including mineral, sapphire, and acrylic, selected to match the watch's original specification where this can be determined.

A Written Plan for Every Restoration
Collectible and restoration-grade work begins with a written plan — what will be addressed, in what order, using which methods, and at what cost. This document is agreed before a single component is disassembled. It becomes the owner's record of what was carried out.
Refinishing Only as Far as the Owner Wishes
Many watches accumulate marks that are part of their story. We do not refinish beyond what has been requested. An owner who values original patina will find their wishes respected; an owner who wants a fresh case surface will receive that instead. The choice is entirely theirs.
Microscope-Level Movement Inspection
Worn pivot holes, damaged jewels, and hairspring distortions can be invisible to the naked eye but significant to function. Our stereo microscope inspection step identifies issues that a visual check alone would miss — particularly relevant for vintage and fine watch movements.
Part Sourcing Without Compromise
When a component needs replacing, we take time to source the right one rather than the quickest one. This may add days to a job; for a watch of historical or personal value, it is the approach that preserves what matters about the piece.
